Acts 8 v 26-40 Philip and the Ethiopian

Evangelism is a well written about
and often discussed topic. It can fill us with joy when someone becomes a
Christian, and fill us with guilt if we feel we don't share our faith often
enough. For Philip, the process was two-fold. He responded to what God wanted
him to do and spoke to the Ethiopian. Then, equally importantly, started from
where the man was questioning and guided him to the person of Jesus. The speed
of the man's conversion is striking, as is the provision of God bringing the
right person into his life at the right time.
Take time today to think about the
people you know who do not know Jesus. Pray for them, and that they will move
forwards in their discovery of who he is. But then also have the courage to
pray for Jesus to show you the part you have to play in their journey to faith -
and be ready for him to answer that prayer.
Most merciful God,
who by the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ
delivered and saved the world:
grant that by faith in him who suffered on the cross
we may triumph in the power of his victory;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
who by the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ
delivered and saved the world:
grant that by faith in him who suffered on the cross
we may triumph in the power of his victory;
