Day 35 Ruth 2 v 1-23 Boaz

Ruth 2 v 1-23 Boaz    (Click the link to get to the passage)

The story of Ruth and Boaz is a moving combination of a man who cares for his family, but also who falls in love with a woman that he marries and takes care of. This is matched by the loyalty and dedication of Ruth to her mother-in-law and her willingness to follow her and care for her into a different country. Through the grief of lost loved ones, happiness is rediscovered.

Take time today to think about those who have lost loved ones. This could be people we know, friends or family. But it could also be more removed, for people we do not know at all. There are many places in the world we can pray for where children have lost parents, where parents have lost children. War, famine, terror. Lift them to God and ask for his peace, love and provision at this time.

Almighty and everlasting God,
who in your tender love towards the human race
      sent your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ
to take upon him our flesh
and to suffer death upon the cross:
grant that we may follow the example of his patience and humility,
and also be made partakers of his resurrection;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
