Day 36 Genesis 6 v 9-22 Noah

Genesis 6 v 9-22 Noah    (Click the link to get to the passage)

It is timely to re-read the story of Noah, especially as the film has recently been released - stretching the biblical story to Hollywood limits. Some would even say beyond truth.

This year a lot of people in the UK have struggled with weather conditions never seen in our generation. Whilst others in the world struggle with similar conditions on a daily basis. Scientists from all corners of the globe make the link back to human behaviour and how we are not caring for our planet as we could or should.

Take time today to pray for those who suffer as a result of the climate. Also pray for the efforts of governments and advisors working to put in place strategies to cope. But don't forget our individual responsibility to monitor our impact on the world we live in.

Almighty and everlasting God,
who in your tender love towards the human race
      sent your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ
to take upon him our flesh
and to suffer death upon the cross:
grant that we may follow the example of his patience and humility,
and also be made partakers of his resurrection;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
