And so the trial of Jesus starts. Jesus explains calmly how he was open about his teaching and did nothing in secret. The response of the officials is telling - the emptiness of their accusations and the ultimate innocence of Jesus.
How do we react when people ask us about our faith and trust in Jesus? Are we ready with an answer, and willing to share what Jesus has done for us? It is interesting to analyse how our friends and colleagues respond to the name of Jesus. Be aware today of times when we can share the teaching of Jesus, and be an open disciple of our Lord.
God our Father,
in your love and goodness
you have taught us to come
close to you in penitence
with prayer, fasting and generosity;
accept our Lenten discipline,
and when we fall by our weakness,
raise us up by your unfailing mercy;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
